I would like to express my gratitude for the generosity displayed by the friends, family members and possibly even fellow bloggers who took my request to heart and made a donation on my behalf to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Within two days of signing up for the run my target of $150 had been met, then doubled. As they say 'round the poker table, I'm now going to up the ante.
I would like to challenge you all to help me meet my new fundraising objective of $750 by referring your friends or family members to my online donation site (https://www.cibcrunforthecure.com/html/p.asp?t=1219096&l=1) or by forwarding the email you may have received from me to those who might be willing to donate to the cause.
All you have to do is think of that one, or likely those many women in your life who've been touched by breast cancer; to remember that it's so often an arbitrary affliction, or at the very least nearly an impossible one to prevent; and that by contributing to finding a cure can be as easy as typing a few lines and sending an email out to those who care as much as you do.
You have thirteen days.
