A drop in the middle of a drought

I just wanted to post a message saying that despite my lack of posts, I'm still alive and well. November at NPSIA is a rather hectic month. Papers, take-home midterms, a recent presentation to the Bank of Canada, and now two joyous take-home finals have been keeping me away from the blog (despite the post-worthy state of affairs over on Parliament Hill).

My down-time is occupied by running (when not dealing with annoying colds that persist for a week), reading (though this only started up again recently after acquiring Romeo Dallaire's gripping Shake Hands with the Devil), the occasional beer or dinner out with friends, and watching The National and Da Vinci's City Hall.

So that's been my life over the past month.

And now for some quick predictions:

- Even political junkies like myself will get tired of the now up-and-running campaign by the time Christmas rolls around;
- Despite his surprisingly good work so far as a backbencher, my current MP, Don Bell, will not make it into the next minority government due to the recent nomination of a new Conservative Party candidate in my riding;
- We're going to see another Liberal minority government after the next election;
- This current bout of warm weather in Ottawa is just a ploy by the weather gods to make the subsequent cold snap feel even worse;
- Finishing the semester will leave me feeling very satisfied;
- Christmas with my family is going to be great.
